With a proven track record of excellence and a commitment to serving as a bridge to success, the Aspire staff is ready to ignite excitement and inspire countless individuals as they make the brave decision to change their lives.

Aspire Program and Operations members are working hard to guide new and existing students through our testing and placement process so that classes will be ready to begin on September 11!

Until August 18, prospective students have the opportunity to enroll in a diverse range of English as a Second Language, GED, and Adult Basic Education classes that cater to various skill levels and learning preferences. The organization's staff and passionate volunteer instructors bring a wealth of experience, ensuring that every learner receives top-notch guidance and support on their educational path.

"We believe that education is the cornerstone of personal and societal growth," says Paul DiBiase, the Chief Development Officer at Aspire. "Our mission is to empower individuals, irrespective of their background, to unlock their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Through our Fall Registration, we are thrilled to open doors to learning and enable students to take that crucial first step towards a brighter future."

North Texas Giving Day Is Just Around the Corner!

Early Giving Opens September 1!

This year on Thursday, September 21, 2023, Aspire is participating in Communities Foundation of Texas’ NTX Giving Day, a one-day online giving extravaganza for our whole region. Last year, we were part of the success as Communities Foundation of Texas brought together over 3,200 local nonprofits like us to raise $58.8 million for our region. When we give together, we grow together! NTX Giving Day is for everyone, no matter the size of your gift!

Since its founding in 2009, NTX Giving Day has inspired people to get up and give, resulting in increased donations and services provided in North Texas. We invite you to join the movement and help make a difference in the lives of our courageous students on September 21.

Here's how you can help:

1. Get up and give on September 21!

Your gift matters! On September 21, if you donate to Aspire here between 6 a.m. and midnight, your dollars will be stretched with bonus funds and prizes raised by Communities Foundation of Texas! Not available on September 21? No worries! Make your gift early between September 1 and September 20!

2. Spread the word!

Spread the word to your friends and loved ones about Aspire and NTX Giving Day! Don’t forget to tag us on social media and use #NTxGivingDay. Encourage your friends and family to get up and give as well! Communities Foundation of Texas is even offering a prize for the social media post that’s shared the most!

3. Follow us!

Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to stay up to date on NTX Giving Day!

Meet the Aspire Team

At Aspire, we value all our team members. Our staff comes to Aspire with a desire to serve our students and is dedicated to the organization’s mission. They are focused on walking alongside our students from the beginning of their journey to the end. This month we are meeting Shannon Kline, who is our Adult Education Coordinator. Read the full interview below.

Name: Shannon Kline

Position at Aspire: Adult Education Coordinator

  • What is your background?  Where are you from? Have you lived in different cities?

I am from a military family and lived all over the United States growing up. Twenty-one years ago, I moved to Texas and have been here since. Texas is the place I have lived the longest throughout my life. I am a mom of six and a grandma of five. My family means the world to me.

  • Growing up, what did you do for fun? Do you have any hobbies now?

Growing up, I was a ballerina and did my final dance (on pointe) at the age of 24. Being a dancer, it was always my dream to dance pointe, and I reached that goal when I turned 12 years old. My current hobbies include reading, crafting, and walking. I am also the queen of binge-watching TV series!

  • Did you go to university or college? If so, what field of study? What were you like as a student?

I have a BA in Psychology, a BA in Early Childhood Education, and an M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership. I loved school and still do! Learning new things is exciting to me. If my only job was going to school and learning, I’d love it. I am very curious.

  • What was your very first job? What has your career path looked like?

I have had many jobs in my life, starting from the age of 14 as a maid. I also worked in retail, sales, and call centers. My career path evolved to education. I taught in K12 schools (both private and public) for 15 years. I served as a teacher, team leader, and instructional coach during that time. I also worked with the central office as a district and campus trainer in addition to my other roles. While in education and after, I became a coach and public speaker. I enjoy using my creativity and talents both in and out of the field of education.

FUN FACTS

1. The CEO Teacher Podcast;

2. Jen Sincero Series;

3. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle

  • Your top 3 favorite movies or television shows:

I love so many shows that it is hard to say just three! My all-time favorite show is Revenge. I am a huge fan of the Twilight movies. My favorite Disney movie is Beauty & the Beast (the cartoon).

WORKING AT ASPIRE

  • What do you like best about working at Aspire?

I began working for Aspire in February 2023.  I love all aspects of Aspire. The team is great, and talking to the students makes me happy!

  • What makes you the proudest of our students?

When they keep going even when they want to give up. I also love it when they surprise themselves by how far they have come.

  • What do you hope for our students?

I hope that our students realize that there is nothing they cannot accomplish in this life, that they can achieve all they desire, and that each step forward is one step closer to reaching their goals.

We are grateful to have Shannon on the Aspire team! She brings her students a lifetime of experience and a love for our mission
