Purposeful Partnerships
This month Aspire launched English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at Brother Bill’s Helping Hand in west Dallas. We were as excited to see students and volunteer teachers in person as we were to bring this idea to life with the amazing team at Brother Bill’s.
Meaningful partnerships begin with shared values and complementary programs. Guided by the lessons learned from the Better Together Fund and its support for the 2020 merger, Aspire team members met several times with Wes, Adair, and Ana at Brother Bill’s to map out how together we could meet our mission goals. We approach these first classes as a pilot so that we can learn from all involved how to expand the programs successfully.
Later this month Aspire will begin offering Its adult literacy programs at Frazier House. Frazier House is an initiative of the Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Community Outreach Center. Frazier House opened in June 2018, in partnership with the Dallas Independent School District, offering multiple services in one building partnering and collaborating with other community nonprofits and service organizations. This shared space is located on the first floor of the former Julia C. Frazier Elementary School building. For more information, click here.
Continued partnerships with ReadyToWork (logistics training), Owenwood Farm and Neighbor Space, the Mexican Consulate, Dallas College, and many others require clear communication, collaboration, and respect. If you know of an organization—nonprofit, government, or corporate—that might benefit from a partnership with Aspire please contact LindaJohnson@AspireToLearn.org.
