MEET THE ASPIRE TEAM

At Aspire we value all our team members. Our staff comes to Aspire with a desire to serve our students and are dedicated to the organization’s mission. They are focused on walking alongside our students from the beginning of their journey to the end. This month we meet our Development and Marketing Manager, Daniela Gonzalez, who joined Aspire in September 2019.

Position at Aspire: Development and Marketing Manager

• What is your background? Family growing up. Where are you from? Have you lived in different cities?

I am from Tamaulipas, Mexico. When I was one year old, my family immigrated to the United States for better job opportunities. Dallas has been my home ever since.

• Growing up, what did you do for fun, and hobbies? Do you have any hobbies now?

Growing up, I enjoyed drawing and playing sports. I played volleyball in middle school and my freshman year of high school until I discovered a passion for running and competed in cross country and track throughout high school. Now, I enjoy traveling and visiting new places.

• Did you go to university or college? Field of study?

I have a bachelor’s degree in General Business from the University of North Texas at Dallas.

• What were you like as a student?

I’ve always enjoyed learning. My parents always encouraged me to study and do my best. I wanted to make them proud. I loved understanding difficult concepts and meeting my goals academically.

• What was your first job? Other jobs, current or past?

My first job was at a restaurant, Ojeda’s. I worked at another (family friend’s) restaurant, Mi Casa Mexican Cuisine, throughout college. After I graduated, I joined Aspire as the morning receptionist. I was later promoted to Development and Marketing Manager.

        WORKING AT ASPIRE

• When did you begin working for Aspire (LIFT or ABERG)?

I joined LIFT in September of 2019 as the morning receptionist.

• What do you like best about working at Aspire?

I love working for an organization that is helping adults in our community by providing them with the opportunities and resources to improve their lives. Having a great boss is a plus also.

• What makes you the proudest of our students?

That they made the brave decision to change their lives and to see their confidence grow.

• What do you hope for our students?

My hope is that they never stop learning and that they accomplish their goals, for themselves and their families.
