1922-2021

Aleen Johnson, a former Aspire (Aberg Center for Literacy) volunteer, passed away this month after living a life based on family, service to others, and faith. Aleen began serving the organization after reading a story in the paper and knew she wanted to help. A long-time teacher, Aleen was a dedicated educator in the GED program and helped all who reached out for help to improve their lives. Read more »

Our volunteer for this month is lifelong Dallas resident Mark Pritchett. Mark was born and raised in Dallas and lives in the Oak Cliff neighborhood where he grew up. Mark was a dedicated high school teacher for 30 years and began volunteering at Aspire in 2019. Our volunteers come to us with varied backgrounds and careers and Mark is a great example of the special people who serve our students. Read more »
